Now that I think about it, all three of the real cars I've owned (not counting the nonrunning/never-again-running basket case Spitfire that was supposedly mine but really was owned by the squirrels and snakes in Mom's back yard) were creations of the age of Reagan. I have no scanned/digital pictures of them right now, so I'll go with what I can find (read: steal) online for representative purposes, but regardless (and as noted before once or twice):
1. 1984 Audi Coupe GT. Mine was black. A Scirocco for adults. Not very fast, subpar brakes, but a really great all-around machine. Also gets me entry into the Vintage Audi 5-Cylinder Owner's Club, which is tres chic.
2. 1982 Mercedes 240D. Yes, more actually a product of the '70s, but so were a lot of good '80s bands. Dreadfully slow even with a manual transmission. It did have its charms, though, including keeping me very much alive when it went hard into a tree one night.
3. 1987 Honda Prelude Si. Note: be careful buying used/worn Japanese cars. Was likely a good machine in its day, but was pretty burned out by the time I got to it. Still a decent runabout.
In other news, dear God am I so overdue for something good and fast in this lifetime.

How about you give me that Audi and we can be friends for ever?
Sound good? Great.
Pleasure doing business with you!

If you want it, it may still be at the repair yard northwest of Chicago where I left it in 1999. (Long story.) Be prepared to deal with a broken exhaust manifold and a suspension rusted into unalignability, if not much more by now.
